Ovation Communications was born as one of the first competitive local exchange
carriers in the Midwest. A David competing for the local telephone business against
the resident Goliath, former monopoly Qwest, and other large telecommunications

the plan to launch the company in the Minneapolis/St. Paul marketplace. Leveraging the

The end result? Ovation was purchased by one of the larger competitors we boxed out
with the David & Goliath story, for 100 times cash flow and more than 16 times the
initial capital investment.
